Description
Lady Gowrie & Narragunnawali is inviting you join with us to explore -
What is a RAP and why should we consider developing one?
When: 3pm - July 24th
Amy Duncan, the Senior Officer for Education Partnerships at Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunnawali team, will be sharing a presentation focused on how to look beyond professional requirements when engaging in reconciliation in early childhood education and care and how the Narragunnawali program and resources can support educators, families, children and the wider community drive reconciliation. This session will also offer an introduction to Narragunnawali, including the steps to develop, submit, and maintain a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and how this framework can be used, alongside professional learning and curriculum resources, to support services in meaningfully engaging with reconciliation in and across education. Through facilitated discussions, we will begin to unpack why relationships with community are key to successfully engaging with reconciliation in education.
We are aware, that as this is a journey, everyone will have different levels of familiarity with the Narragunnawali program and the process for developing and maintaining a RAP.
To support this work, you may like to explore the following resources before attending the session. Or if you feel like you are confident in how to engage with and use the Narragunnawali platform, you are welcome to come and share some stories about your journey so far as a way of encouraging those who may be just getting started. If you are not able to attend the session, we would encourage you to consider looking into the resources below.
An early learning service can develop a RAP using the Narragunnawali platform to register and extend on existing initiatives, or to begin a new journey. Narragunnawali RAPs provide a whole-scale framework and process for driving reconciliation in education, with a holistic focus on strengthening relationships, respect and opportunities in the classroom, around the school and with the local community.
A link will be distributed to participants 24hrs prior to the event.
